Description

No sugar, low fat treat for those of us who like to indulge, but without the guilt

Ingredients

  • 2 c flour
  • 1 T baking powder
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t trade aid cinnamon
  • 1⁄2 t nutmeg
  • 3 bananas
  • 1⁄2 c trade aid medjool dates
  • 1 T trade aid olive oil
  • 1 egg (beaten)

Instructions

Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg into a bowl.

Chop the dates into rough pieces. 

Mash the bananas and add the dates, oil and egg and mix well.

Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and add the banana and date mix.

Mix together, add a tabelspoon of milk if the recipe is too dry.

Turn out onto a floured surface and flatten the scone mixture, cut into 8 scones and then transfer to a baking tray.

Bake for 10-12 minutes in 200 degree Celsius oven.
