Cane Sugar
SWEET, SWEET CANE SUGAR
Sugar is a product that most of us consume on a daily basis. Yet how often do you ponder the source of this sweet product? There is also a not so sweet side to sugar..read more here.
An everyday sugar - Our fair trade and organic cane sugar is ideal as an everyday sugar and can be used in place of standard white or raw sugar to sweeten your baking, cooking or beverages.
Organic - our fairer trading terms reward organic production and supports a more sustainable method of sugar production. We don't stop there. Where possible Trade Aid also tries to make our packaging as sustainable as possible - so we have stuck with the traditional ole brown sugar bag!
Golden turbinado - Trade Aid’s cane sugar is turbinado which gives it a hint of flavour and a golden colour. This is a partially processed sugar - so it still contains a small amount of its original molasses and even contains small amounts of good nutrients not found in refined white sugar.
PRODUCER INFO
Fairer trading terms are needed to improve the livelihoods of disadvantaged sugar farmers and to help them to better protect the environment. Trade Aid purchases its sugar from some of the lowest-impact sugar producers in the world, and through our ability to trade directly with co-operatives under fairer terms we can most effectively address the need to provide better returns to growers.
